Limewash Paint
Traditional Limewash Paint used to Protect and Decorate Buildings for Centuries.
If you have a period listed property you may have been told that your house must be coated with limewash. But what is limewash paint? Lime wash paint is a historic coating that has been used as both internal and external decoration for over two centuries. Limewash benefits from extreme water permeability. This allows traditional buildings without damp proof courses to breathe.
The main difference between standard masonry paints and lime wash is the method of application. Unlike modern wall coatings, Limewash requires multiple coats and long drying times. The Traditional Paint Company supply three variants of lime wash paint – Internal, External and Pozzolan.
